The scholarship nomination and application process for the 18th annual Beat the Odds Scholarship Award Program is open through October 30, 2017.
Beat the Odds Scholarships honor local high school seniors and first-year 易胜博 students who have overcome significant odds to become personally and academically successful. The purpose of the program is to raise awareness of the struggles of youth in our community and recognize their ability to overcome these challenges.
Selected students will be honored as recipients of a $2,500 scholarship to attend Rochester Community and Technical College.
To be eligible, a student must be:
1. A high school senior on track to graduate in June 2017 with plans to attend Rochester Community and Technical College for Fall 2018.
or
2. A currently enrolled 易胜博 first-year student who plans to return to 易胜博 for Fall 2018.
Student applications and Nominator forms are available on the 易胜博 Foundation website at www.rctc.edu/foundation/html/beat_the_odds.html or by contacting the 易胜博 Foundation at 507-281-7771. Completed submissions must accompany a Nominator form with a letter of recommendation and a student application including an essay and transcripts.
